The African American Despair

Our Blacks constantly looking for economic handouts?
Are we hoping the White man will give racism a turnabout?
Have we abdicated our responsibilities as American Citizens?
Do drugs and alcohol junkies reign while families are jettison?
Our hopes and dreams become nightmares by wretched despair.
Do your incessant affairs leave you dangerously unaware?
Can we awaken our spirits and mortify sin’s appetite?
Will our hardened hearts ever be broken and contrite?
Let’s saddle education and ride into to winds of opportunity.
Repent for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
Soon He’ll come, and who will be able to stand?

A Poor Christian Man

I may not be a knight in shining armor
But I’m sowing God’s seed like a farmer.
I don’t always confront people about their sins,
But when convicted I surrender from within.
I may be wearing an unhappy frown,
But joy will come with my righteous crown.
I may over eat with dainty soul foods,
But, bread form heaven tastes O so good!
I may be coy around the finest women,
But I witness boldly before sinful men.
Come to think of it, my days are all numbered,
But when I reach heavens portals, I’ll be remembered.

My All to You

My heart will always yearn
to love you as fire burns.
My mind will always
keep thinking of you.
My hands are here to
manually serve you.
My tongue will speak
highly well of you.
My feet run swiftly
after you, like hunting foxes.
My ears are attentive
to hear your pleasant voices.
O let me smell your aromatic scents,
and lay my hands upon your Soft
gentle skin as a masseur.
Come solace our mortal lives
under moon-lit pleasures.

A Blessed Nation

Generations have changed in fickled ways.
Our Constitutional documents hardly sway.

Jesus fulfilled The Mosaic Law in His day.
HIs bloody sacrifice resulted in a heyday.

We all inherited Adam’s sinful nature,
Jesus can change our inherited future.

He ended His life by a deadly blow, now
we escape tyranny by grace He bestows.

Nations will decline, by sins they show.
Some are conquered by a distant foe.

Their Armies disappear like foggy air,
And women drown deep into despair.

God’s Word never changes, unlike our wages.
Beaming light to all Nations throughout Ages.

Blessed is the Nation who trusts in their God,
Lifting up praises—singing Hosanna’s loud.

When we enter eternity, and many shall fall.
Few are saved, but will you heed God’s call?

Twisted Women

They’re wrong when they say,
Isn’t that guy so cute, but
He ends up being a brawny brute.

They’re wrong when confusing
Love with lust, but He won’t marry
Because he always puts himself first.

Women fall prey to premarital sex,
They enjoy men bodacious bodes,
Who will heal her empty heart, save God?

And how will they raise their kids,
When living promiscuously more,
But God sees them as dirty whores.

God gets the smallest tokens,
They give Him little time, and
Deny Him a meager dime.

They date men who seem so nice,
And marry more than twice,
Then eventually pay the piper’s price.

Seems like their loyalties are twisted.
Their priorities are on Earthly treasures,
While they relish their lonely lovers.

God’s name must be hallowed.
He straitens the crooked arrows,
To walk the straight and narrow,

Receive new life from Jesus Christ,
And drink from your own fountain, by
Living with God in holy union.

The Benighted Heart

My heart is black as midnight.
Satan reaps havoc over my life.

I’m held captive by lustful thoughts.
Hurt by arrows in piercing bouts.

Wielding the Word as an edged sword.
Sharpened with Saints in one accord.

Am I entering a deep black hole,
Besieged by evil thoughts untold?

I’m helpless like a hatch chicken:
Floundering with little direction.

I don’t see freedom’s light in sight.
But God hasn’t abandoned my plight.

Only God sees my helpless estate.
His Son Jesus knows how to relate.

Letting God’s Word burn deep within,
I hope my darkness comes to an end,

Trusting my flesh yields no dividends.
Wielding the Word is my only defense.

God has regarded my guilty journey.
I Thank Jesus as my defense Attorney.

His dripping blood secures my freedom,
I’m ready to enter God’s Holy kingdom.

Going Up, Anyone?

Will everyone reach heaven’s pearly portals?
When we’re full of sin as prideful mortals?
Elevators can’t ascend to high-rise heaven,
Nor can people forgive their hefty burdens?
But Jesus ascended on light-whited clouds,
So, souls must aspire to whatever He allows.
You need a clean heart to be accepted fair.
Thieves can’t steal your treasures up there.
Will you worship the King upon His request?
Make your discission or be one He detests.
As birds in nests getting ready to fly, even
Saints are waiting to be raptured on high!
All our sins are remembered no more.
We’ll revel in riches with songs we implore!
Let’s get ready for that celebrated feast.
Why Jesus defeated that bullying Beast.
His enemies will bow on bended knees,
And death and pain will no longer be.
Then Life will yield its fruit bearing seed.
And Christ will reign forever indeed.

Diane Treas

Her shutters were shut from the daily Sun.
Yet she laughs and banters while having fun.
She lives by faith which makes perfect sense.
She wonders will someone break her silence.
She loves her friends as sounding boards.
She dines and shops whatever she affords.
As dogs who follow their Master’s way,
She needs a guide throughout the day.
Never does she curse the daily darkness,
But she prays for healing whatever her illness.
Her oldies music & meals tackles her lonesome.
She doesn’t own wheels, but she owns a home!
Her gardener and maid may come and go,
But she loves her guests as rivers over-flow.
And when that day comes, she’ll see The Lord’s face!
And realize that being blind was just another phase.

A New Experience

Lying on grass, I fixated on the stars,
Hoping for an answer from an Unknown God.
I wondered if my faith was worthless.
Would the galaxies reveal my Creator?
Then a colleague handed me a Book,
And the gospel story opened my eyes
As I looked at the resurrected Christ.
I was astonished and embraced Him for Life,
Asking for an indwelling Spirit was easy.
My faith was infused and mind renewed.
My cup of fulfillment was satisfied!
He’s like no other, who removed my sins.
Though I found myself in a cesspool
of campus wickedness I previously
wallowed in pride and sin, Yet I was
Freely Forgiven, though bound in a body
But housed by the Spirit with all
Spiritual blessings in heavenly places.
A new man emerged by a rebirth,
Like a mighty man to run a race.
The Spirit led me to believers
Of like faith, and more truth in the Book.
I know no other, and I know Him for myself;
This is the True God—the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Search for Love

Let not the Sun go down upon my relentless heart.
Let the soft winds carry you into my warm bosom.
Let your bodily perfumes guide their aromas to my senses.
Let the Sun soften my stubborn heart in ceaseless searches.
I will rush to your side as waves rush to sandy beaches.
Will my aching feet heal after every road is trodden—
Only to behold your glistening eyes as Swans in a pond?
Let your tongue kiss me like bears devour dainty blue berries.
My radar seeks to rendezvous with you in pleasant meadows.
The melody of your voice beckons to solace my anxious mind.
I cannot feel your voluptuous lips nor your silky-smooth hair.
I wait with midnight candles to embrace your radiant face.
My soul anticipates daylight, waiting patiently till, I find you.
When suddenly you walk into my life with surprising delight,
And whisper softly to you saying, I love you, my beloved,
As gentle rains rush into rivers flowing into the sea,
So, your love overflows the depths of my soul.
Then I can say, I have found one whom my soul loveth.
