Remember Our Love

We say, “I love you” over and over,
But when it fades we hope to recover.

By chance we split, and our end is blue.
And you want to shift to someone new.

Remember we’ll end in eternal heaven,
But we dwell in bodies with little leaven.

By chance our love grows freezing cold.
Remember our times as lovers of old.

We laughed so hard we went belly up.
We dined at night with bottomless cups.

There are no regrets we’ve spent together.
We appreciated and accepted one another.

Remember our flaws and sinful behaviors?
Somehow they skipped like turning pages.

Our future was hell bound minus the Lord,
But we’re tightly held by love’s strong cord.

I was obliged to love you and God a lot,
Now nothing can sever the love we’ve got.
