That Mountain

As I enter to possess the Promised Land,

Like Caleb, I’ll conquer that Mountain high.

And like Jesus gave that Samaritan Woman,

I’ve already tasted that spring filled fountain.

My life needed rest from intruding thoughts.

I suffered enough of anguish full of fraught.

That mountain was very lofty and high,

Yet my Captain’s ability was very nigh.

I’ve long withstood those dirty demons.

I wanted to dwell desperately in freedom.

Nevertheless, God victoriously granted it.

I only needed to fight and subdue it.

I wanted so very long to abide there.

For it’s my inheritance fair and square.

His precious promise sealed the deal.

After Christ conquered death and hell,

I became joint heirs of His Eternal Will.

What hinders me now?

All Christ’s enemies must humbly bow.

And when this war of horror is over,

I’ll thank Jesus—my Lone and Kingly Victor!
